I have been such a slacker in this area. I have seen so many movies in the past month. I might have an onslaught of reviews coming. Bear with me.

American Idol 14: Top 9 Elimination/Top 8 Songs from Kelly Clarkson

So you know that you are busy when you forget that you didn't blog. Seriously thought that I had covered this but after looking for it all over the internet, I realized that I had not. SMH. Shame on me. Anyway, I have loved Kelly Clarkson from day one. I wanted a Kelly/Tamyra finale so bad in Season 1 but it is what it is. I think that it is extremely awesome that Kelly came back and coached the idol contestants. As always, my ranking goes from least favorite to favorite. Qaasim Middleton - Stronger: This was painful to listen to. Those runs were so out of tune and sloppy. If you were trying to prove to America that you can actually sing, you failed hard. It sounded like you were murmuring the entire song. American Idol 14: Top 8 Girls - Songs Of Motown

After the guys gave us a somewhat interesting show, it is now time for the girls. Still don't like the format and the one show direction that American Idol is going in. When you make changes like that, it is time to throw in the towel. Nothing I can do about it so here is my take on the ladies. As always, my ranking goes from least favorite to favorite. Alexis Gomez - Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch: Probably one of the worst that I have heard at this stage. It was just all over the place. It felt as if you were a kitten trying to be a tiger and failing miserably. I wanted someone to stop the music and say "We made a mistake. Come on up Lovey or Katherine". While that would have been mean, it would have been better than listening to this the entire way through. Just wasted a spot in my opinion. American Idol 14: Top 11 Elimination/Top 9 80's Songs

The 80's! One of the best decades of music. Music that I grew up on. Music that helped to shape the kind of person that I am. I probably had a different memory of 80's music than most. I listened to the sounds of Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, and Sade for the most part with a splattering of Janet Jackson, New Kids On The Block, and Paula Abdul. Early 80's saw me still in pampers so there wasn't a lot for me to draw from there. I like this theme for the contestants but still can't wait to hear them do more contemporary songs. As always, my ranking goes from least favorite to favorite. Qaasim Middleton - Addicted To Love: Did nothing for me. I doubt that I am still salty about the save being used last week as opposed to 2 weeks prior but your vocals are nowhere good enough to be considered Top 9 material.
