American Idol Season 11: Top 11/12 Studios
The live performances tell a lot about the singers capability. Studios should be considerably better but if a singer doesn't sound good with technical help then....I don't know what to say. There were a couple of versions still left a lot to be desired. Here is how they rank in my books:
Heejun Han: Still had the "out of breath" feel to it. I am still of fan of your tone but I think that you still need a lot of technique help. I need to feel that you feel the song. I just feel like this was the wrong song for you.
Deandre Brackensick: It was a good vocal but nothing special to it. Just blah!
Erika Van Pelt: I hate hate this arrangement. Why did they do this to you and to the song? Your tone is so recordable and enjoyable to listen to. I still love your vocals but finding it hard to get past the arrangement. Not your fault at all.
Phillip Phillips: Pretty good. Sounded just like the live. No problems here.
Shannon Magrane: This was so much better than the live version. You have a Leona Lewis quality to your vocals. It wasn't boring but very pretty. It was a very good vocal. Why didn't you sing like that on the live show???
Colton Dixon: Very good recording. Nothing too different but it was still good!
Skylar Laine: You are a different kind of country singer! I like it a lot because it possesses attitude and grit!!
Elise Testone: Nice job!! This felt organic and authentic. Nice vocals and interpretation!!!!
Hollie Cavanagh: Good job with this tough song! I love your vocals!! Great phrasing and very professional sounding!!
Jessica Sanchez: So crazy that she sings just like she does on the stage!!! There are no signs of production work done even though I know that it is there. I love it!!!!
Joshua Ledet: Whew I felt the soul and passion behind every note!!!! You are a pro and can emote with the best of them. Nothing more to say. It was just so good.
I love listening to the recordings. I am really not on the Heejun kick. I definitely think that He needs to kick it into gear or he will be home soon. Everyone is so different. It now just comes down to who can give it their all.
