AMERICAN IDOL 12: VEGAS GIRLS WEEK 1

This is how they should have been doing it from the start. I love that we get to hear the contestants before the voting rounds! Please do this every season (if it is still on). Lets start with our girls. I really feel like a female can win this year. We have so many amazing choices from all genres!!! My ranking goes from least to greatest:

Kamaria Ousley - Mr. Know It All: Just horrible. Horrible song choice and you were under pitch the entire time. Crash and burn for realz!!! I really wish that you had picked something different since you name dropped like crazy during your interview.

Jenny Beth Willis - Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love: Well it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I had never heard this song before. I felt like it was not the right song choice for this competition and especially being the first one out of the gate. For some reason, it came off very talent show-ish. Good voice but horrible song choice.

Isabelle - God Bless The Child: I didn't love the song choice for her. The beginning was actually very good but then it got screamy in parts. The last note was very under pitch. I can see potential but she just didn't deliver.

Shubha Vedula - Born This Way: I LOVED the beginning at the piano. It had depth and it showcased your vocals very well. Once you got up, you just did too much. I couldn't connect to the song. I agree with Randy, you should have stayed at the piano.

Brandy Hotard - I Don't Love You Anymore: I am not familiar with the song but I felt like you delivered a good vocal. But unfortunately, that was all that I picked up from the performance. I feel like with this being the first full performance that will be displayed to all of America, it should have been STELLAR!! I feel like with the right coaching, she can go places.

Adriana Latonio - Ain't No Way: Well during the first 5 seconds, I was thinking, wow she is not going to be able to pull this off. Then something turned on. Unfortunately it was a little inconsistent. I felt like it could have been more solid and connected. There is a voice there but I don't know if it is enough to hang with the big dogs.

Teena Torres - Soulmate: I went into this saying that I would hate this for a couple of reasons. One, I hated her previous performances. And two, Natasha Beddingfield's music is AMAZING and should only be done to perfection. But as soon as she opened her mouth, I knew that it was going to be good. I loved the control over most of the notes. I felt like her voice got a little brassy in the higher register. I feel like with some coaching and great song choices, she can make it far.

Angela Miller - Nobody's Perfect: Hmmm Mmmm I really really enjoy her so much!!! She has amazing range and fantastic vocal styling!!! She just has this air of professionalism that oozes out of her. I can't wait to hear more!!!

Kree Harrison - Up To The Mountain: YES MA'AM!!! You told a story and had vocals that caused me to raise my Gospel hand. I love the tone of your voice. You know exactly what to do with your voice. The push and pull delivery was so professional!!!!

Amber Holcomb - My Funny Valentine: WHERE DID YOU COME FROM??????? Holy Schnikes!!!! That was like a musical rollercoaster that shouldn't had ended!!! The runs were super flawless and well placed!!! The vocal was powerful and controlled!!!!! YESSSSS!!!!! So good!!!!
