AMERICAN IDOL 12 Top 4 Redux Then And Now

I must admit, I was hoping that this would happen. These ladies deserved one more week to show their chops.

Kree Harrison - Stormy Weather: This is the first time that I felt like you were an amateur. It just seemed out of sync and never grounded. Some of the top notes seemed like you struggled. There was no connection to the song. It was just okay.

Amber Holcomb - My Funny Valentine: I am not a big fan of recycling songs within a season. I preferred the first time better. This time seemed kind of strained and lackluster to me.

Angie Miller - Someone To Watch Over Me: There was no connection there. It was beautiful but just didn't give me the emotional drive that I needed. The arrangement was so weird and too heavy for a song like this. Not your fault but it didn't help your cause.

Angie Miller - Diamonds: OMG the beginning was breath taking and then something happened. It got shrill and out of sorts. You lost the original connection to it by trying to add embellishments that were not needed.

Amber Holcomb - Just Give Me A Reason: I love this song so much and you did an awesome job with it. Your vocals just soared and flourished all over it!!! You need to do songs like this. Midtempo and current!

Kree Harrison - See You Again: Definitely one of your better vocals. Nice tone and control and overall emotion!!! I am going to say it....better than Carrie. AWESOME!!!

Candice Glover - When I Was Your Man: Kudos for sticking to your guns and not changing the pronouns. Sometimes we get hung up on that and we lose some of the originality and feeling of the song. It also helps when you SANG the mess out of it and own it. That was AMAZING!!!!

Candice Glover - You've Changed: YESSSSS this was EVERYTHING FOR ME!!!! The control. The transition from chest to head. The soul. The jazz. CLASS ACT!!!!

So for me, CANDICE is the only safe one. ANGIE gave two okay performances. AMBER recycled and the video clip of her not knowing the words didn't gain her any fans. KREE is losing her way a little but See You Again was AMAZING!!!!

Family Profile #3: My Oldest Brother (1 of 8)

Reference Name: Vietnam Date Of Birth: 6/23/58 Favorite Memory: Spending the night at his house after I had graduated from college to talk about life and what to expect. My oldest brother was not really there when I was growing up. I don't know a whole lot about him but I do know that he served in the Vietnam war. There were moments where I believed that he was crazy. He was a little violent when I was in high school. I thought that the war may have something to do with that issue. He married a woman from Africa. I never really liked her. She seemed like she only wanted him for the easy passage into the US. In about a year, they got divorced. They do share a child together. American Idol 14: Top 8 Girls - Songs Of Motown

After the guys gave us a somewhat interesting show, it is now time for the girls. Still don't like the format and the one show direction that American Idol is going in. When you make changes like that, it is time to throw in the towel. Nothing I can do about it so here is my take on the ladies. As always, my ranking goes from least favorite to favorite. Alexis Gomez - Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch: Probably one of the worst that I have heard at this stage. It was just all over the place. It felt as if you were a kitten trying to be a tiger and failing miserably. I wanted someone to stop the music and say "We made a mistake. Come on up Lovey or Katherine". While that would have been mean, it would have been better than listening to this the entire way through. Just wasted a spot in my opinion.
