THE VOICE: Battles Part 1

My favorite part of the competition!! This is where you need to really show up or your competition will eat you alive. And if two contestants are in it all the way, we get an amazing performance! Win-win!!! I will also say who should have won and if I would have stolen the eliminated contestant.

Mia Z vs. Ashley Morgan - Put The Gun Down: Ashley brought the power and delivery. Mia had the style and vocal uniqueness. I think that I would have given it to Ashley. Since Pharrell chose Mia, I was so happy to see that all of the judges wanted to steal Ashley. I would have totally stolen her!

Tonya Boyd-Cannon vs. James McNeiece - P.Y.T.: This was a great match but you could sense the fear towards the end from James. Once Tonya got into her pocket, she pretty much ate him alive. Tonya definitely won that one for me. I don't think that I would have stolen James.

Brian Johnson vs. Joshua Davis - Knockin' On Heaven's Door: What a beautiful performance by both of these guys. It totally took me there. Just beautiful. I think that I would have given the edge to Brian. I absolutely would have stolen Joshua.

The Voice 10: Top 10

My apologies for the tardiness of this post. Busy life on the road with Ball In The House. Anyway, here are my thoughts about our Top 10. As always, I will rank the performances from least favorite to favorite. Daniel Passino  - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing : Really??? This song??? If you were going to do something completely different, I would have been on board. Such a bad bar karaoke performance. I am not a fan of your vocal tone with this song. When you went to your falsetto, it was a big ole' ball of NOPE. You didn't even prep for it. Your runs were sloppy and out of tune. Cringe worthy during the latter part of the performance. Just no! Paxton Ingram - It's All Coming Back To Me : Something about his tone really bothers. It is too whiney and immature. Especially on songs like this. Family Profile #3: My Oldest Brother (1 of 8)

Reference Name: Vietnam Date Of Birth: 6/23/58 Favorite Memory: Spending the night at his house after I had graduated from college to talk about life and what to expect. My oldest brother was not really there when I was growing up. I don't know a whole lot about him but I do know that he served in the Vietnam war. There were moments where I believed that he was crazy. He was a little violent when I was in high school. I thought that the war may have something to do with that issue. He married a woman from Africa. I never really liked her. She seemed like she only wanted him for the easy passage into the US. In about a year, they got divorced. They do share a child together.
