American Idol 15: Bus Tour and Various Cities
Episode 4. Come on Hollywood week!!! Lots of good auditions but I want to get past the stories and intros. I want the good stuff. The vocals!
In case you haven't checked out my blog before, here is how I write about the audition episodes:
THE GOOD - obviously the contestants that blow me away or that have a lot of potential for growth in the season and get through to the next round
THE BAD - horrible singing and don't get through to the next round
THE WHY NOT - IMO, great singing and potential but don't go through to the next round
THE WHY - Not my cup of tea but somehow made it to the next round
Let's get started
THE GOOD
Amber Lynn - Nice soulful Joss Stone type of vibe. I feel like she can really come into her own
Chris Johnson - Nice nice vocals. You can tell that he is a seasoned pro because he sang with lots of ease and confidence.
Mary Williams - Super soothing tone. I really enjoy this type of country singing. Mature and connected.
Terrian - Calm. Chill. Collected. I just hope that she can pick the energy up at some point.
Thomas Stringfellow - At first, I was ready to pass but then he put some meat into his voice and I was sold.
Tywan "Tank" Jackson - He has a great tone to his voice. A couple of questionable musical choices but hopefully he can grow in confidence and talent.
John Wayne Schulz - Loved it. His story coupled with his very natural audition just made for a fantastic moment.
Jordyn Simone - Yes yes yes! I love her polish and poise. She will definitely go very far. So mature for being 15.
Kassy Levels - Sass and vocals!
Rhea Raj - Smooth and silky vocals.
James Dillon - I don't know why there was a question. He had great vocals that told a story. Lots of emotion.
Ashley Lilinoe - Loved her chill style. Both in personality and vocals.
Andrew Nazarbekian - Nice vocals and I really hope that he does well. Nice control and use of range.
Elvie Shane - Very nice feel in his voice.
THE BAD
Emily Wears - Not horrible. I wanted her pitch and vocal sustainability to be better. Nerves definitely got the best of her
Xavier Soller - Vocals were pretty bad. Energy was awesome but absolutely no on the vocals.
Leann "Blue" McIssac - Yea I get quirky but I did not get her at all.
Leah Harbert - Child......that was rough.
THE WHY NOT
I got nothing....again
THE WHY
James VIII - Man he has a lot of work to do before I can get on board with him. Not a fan of his throaty vocals.
Ethan Kuntz - I don't think that he is ready at all. He knows his lane and he wants to excel in that. I don't think that he will be able to adapt.
I guess we have a few more episodes to cover before we get to the Hollywood rounds.
Until next time....
